Mini-Slot Card Works with Eaton 5PX G2 and 9SX UPS Systems This RELAY-MS relay/serial interface card offers two types of interfaces via a DB9/RS-232 connector: dry contacts (contact mode) and RS-232 serial interface (RS-232 mode). It enables network monitoring of a connected UPS system through a relay-connected computer. Network monitoring helps protect the computer by initiating automatic shutdowns. Supported Eaton UPS systems include the 5P, 5PX, 5PX G2, 9PX, 9PXM, 9SX and 93E series. No UPS shutdown, restart or load disconnection is necessary to install RELAY-MS. Ready for Operation in 2 Modes In contact mode (the default setting), RELAY-MS provides UPS information to an alarm system, programmable logic controller (PLC) or computer via dry contacts (relay). Transmitted information includes load power, load on bypass, load on battery, load on utility, battery fault and low battery. In RS-232 mode (RS-232 cable sold separately), RELAY-MS offers an RS-232 interface for connection to a computer or UPS control display unit.
