WWII Vintage "Soldiers Compass"

Very nice Compass from WWII.
Story behind the compass is: Soldiers that were deployed and stationed in field during the WWII fights, their platoon Sergeant would give them all this particular Compass (this is an original piece from WWII) in order for the soldier to make it back to their camping ground. Upon receiving this particular compass at an estate sale in my town, I was told by the seller that "This compass was given to my Great-Grandfather during WWII from General Patton." I don't know how true this is, it is only what I was told. I did take the piece to a local antique specialist whom in which did confirm that this piece was definitely real and from the era during WWII time. I also tested the compass and it is still accurate and matched up with my Google GPS. It flows smoothly throughout and entire 3 and free from any functioning issues. A small dent is shown in the photo on the back of the casings outside. Will need a nice cleaning but is free from noticeable damages.
